On our honeymoon, Number Guy and I had the opportunity to swim with dolphins. It was an awesome experience. The week we staycantioned, I was casting about for cool day trip ideas and this one hit me like a flying mackerel in Seattle: whale watching.
I loaded up on the Bonineand off we went.
This boat was anchored near the dock.

A tired old lady but she had lots of character
We had a tough winter this year
We made our way down the channel,

One of many dead trees on the sand
into the harbor,

Two chicks hiding under mom and dad
and out about eleven miles off-shore where we saw a humpback whale. We were drifting in the middle of a school of fish and the whale was enjoying the buffet.

It really is a tail - camera wasn't zoomed
Nice search light picture, though

Up for air and then down for sushi

Munch and repeat

Waving good-bye
The bottlenose dolphins were out cavorting on our trip back to the dock but by that time I was really tired of the in-and-out with the camera bag, so I just watched them. They breached in pairs and trios and looked just like a group of kids on the school playground, making up a game just to entertain themselves.

I just enjoy watching God's creatures playing! It is such a thrill. I'm glad you had the opportunity and could share with us.
Oh, what a lovely and cool way to spend a day!
What a wonderful day! I would love to do that. We went whale watching when we were in Boston the first time.
Fantastic stay-cation plan!
