I am very sorry to have to do this, and I truly and sincerely apologize to any long-time readers/followers who might be affected, but I must. As of today, you may only comment on this blog if you are a Registered User. Registered users include those with Google Accounts and OpenIDs. I am implementing this change because of a nasty comment left by an anonymous commenter lacking a sense of humor. This isn't the first time, but it will be the last.
Here's the thing: this is my blog. My blog. Insulting me or being otherwise rude to me here is no different from calling me on the phone or walking into my home and being insulting or rude. I don't have to accept it in my home or on my phone and I don't have to accept it on my blog.
For all of you guys who read on a regular basis, whether or not you comment or lurk, I am sorry. Thanks for understanding.

16 yarns:
Well, that takes a lot of brass to make nasty comments on someone's blog. I'm amazed at people lately. Some of them have no manners. I always try to be polite, saying please and thank you, and it really takes people by surprise, especially drive-through teens. They stammer and "uh" and a few say "you're welcome."
Good for you for standing up for yourself.
Alas, sometimes anonymity brings out the very worst in people. Sorry you've had to deal with that.
I guess they think that they can get away with it since you arent face to face. Shame on them. Cant blame you a bit for standing up for yourself either. It must be this computerized world we live in...
I'm so sorry that happened to you. I don't get nasties dropping by as often as I used to, but I still remember the sting. Why do people think this is acceptable behavior?
I completely understand, and I'm sorry that you had to be touched by such nonsense.
People can be really nasty sometimes! Sorry you had to deal with it.
Wow that is just sad. What happened to the old saying. Nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. Gheesh.
Sorry that happened..although I haven't gotten a nasty comment..I am getting spammed...so I started moderating and deleting those...no anonymous comments either (although my mom doesn't know how to leave one and is sometimes an unknown LOL)
The ability to be anonymous brings out the worst in some people. I have no problems logging in and have my blog set up so that you can not leave a comment unless you leave an email.
Why would someone think it is acceptable to be rude to you ?? I am sorry that you have had to deal with that.
Checking my comment status. I don't comment often, but I want to be able to do so, as I really enjoy your blog!
Bad manners are just not a good thing.
I can't imagine why anyone in the world would be rude to you. It's not like you discuss politics or religion or any of those other Hot Topics.
Off with their heads!
Oh dear. I'm so sorry that happened to you. It boggles the mind, how people feel free to say things online that they'd never say in person, to your face... shocking really.
So sorry to hear that has happened. Sometimes I hesitate to comment on blogs if I have something to say that could be misconstrued. Sometimes the written word can be interpreted differently than you intend. I really don't want to upset people. (Well... Not usually!! LOL)
((hugs))
I am sorry to hear this. It happens to me on occasion, too, and sometimes the comments left are hurtful. I firmly believe in the "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" philosphy of blog commenting. Why insult someone in their own space.
