Swift...or not so much

When confronted by the need to take massive doses of antihistamines, a knitter will do so. A wise knitter will avoid complicated cables and/or lace projects while under the sedative influence of said antihistamines and stick to simpler, less demanding projects for the duration. Preferably small ones.

Apparently I overestimated my ability to knit under the influence because I cast on and started knitting this (Ravelry link) pathetically simple mop cover three times before getting it right.

Swiffy

Dude...seriously!

I showed my progress to Number Guy at lunch time, pulling out the mop head itself so that he could see how the knitted cover was going to be put on it.

Swiffy
Dude...seriously??

Okay, so I am now working on my fourth attempt to make a mop cover that will aequately cover my mop...

I thought it was beautiful just the way it was...

But I'm sure the next one will be too.

What does it say about me that it took a full minute or so to realize what the problem was!!!!!???? And I don't have an antihistamine excuse!

Wow! Wait till you have to knit with a face mask on!

Just call it a washcloth and be done with it!

Antihistamines give me the wicked jitters. I'd probably knit something big enough to cover my mop, your mop and both our homes.

Maybe you should just buy a smaller mop?

Antihistimes can really knock you for a loop. I hope you don't have to take too long.

I like the idea of the current version being a washcloth.

If you need to start again, you might try the Zoom pattern. It is also a pattern on ravelry. It is a simpler pattern for a 'mop' cover. I have made five of them and they work great. I even turn them inside out and use the other side before washing, so I get double duty out of them.

Good Luck!!!

Have to recommend the neti pot on top of the antihistamines. Wicked amounts of pollen down here,as well as an allergy to something commonly used in my workpace. Although it's kind of a weird sensation, and a little hard to get used to, the neti pot is helping a lot.

Friends don't let friends knit under the influence of antihistamines. :) Are you sure you just don't want to call it a washcloth?

When I take antihistamines, I get briefly loopy and then pass out.
