When I asked Neatnik if she wanted a spiral on top of her new beanie or a plus sign, she opted for the plus sign. That's what you get from the crown shaping on this little hat.
Why "School Beans"?
Old slang interjection ("Cool beans!") + Neatnik's school's color (navy) = School Beans

School Beanes *is* cool beans!!! Wicked cool beans! Neatnik has very good instincts when it comes to knitwear. Very, very good!
I'm so using this pattern for RR and PQL's Christmas hats this year. Thanks!
Cool beans : )
Thanks for the pattern. This is the only hat my 11 year old boy is willing to wear ('cause it's cool enough). My girl loves hers and wears it daily (yap, even when it's warm...)
