Hi, my name is Emily.
I am a Fisher-Price Little Mommy Newborn Twin.
My brother's name is James.
I think you will meet him soon.
James and I belong to the Neatnik.
The Neatnik asked her mommy to make us bibs.
And look, she did!
Well, one, so far.
She said something about Mason-Dixon?
I don't know exactly.
But I like my new bib.
Mason-Dixon Doll Bib
This is a half sized version of the Baby Bib found in Mason-Dixon Knitting. You cast on half the number of stitches and each strap is also only half as wide. I used a yarn over for the buttonhole since it is only one stitch.
Note: This is a good way to use up the small amounts of yarn left over from dishcloth knitting.
Materials
cotton worsted weight yarn from stash
(approx 14 gm)
pair of size 7 needles
yarn needle
Gauge
approx 20 sts and 40 rows in 4" in garter stitch
The Bib
Cast on 20 stitches.
Knit all rows for 10 garter ridges.
Strap 1
Next row, k5 sts (reserve for later), bind off 10 sts, k5 sts.
Work one strap for about 17 garter ridges.
Bind off.
Strap 2 (reserved sts)
Attach new yarn and knit 13 garter ridges.
Next row, k2, bind off center st, k2.
Next row, k2, yo, k2.
Knit this strap to length of first strap.
Bind off.
Finishing
Sew a button on the non-buttonhole strap.
Weave in the ends.
Button bib onto doll.
Give doll to cute small child of choice.

6 yarns:
That's neat. Unfortunately, no little girls with dollies in my life anymore. (boo-hoo)
That's really cute and a great idea!!
Awww...how cute! Almost makes me wish I had my own little Neatnik with dollies for dressing.
Maybe the Big, Fluffy Kitty would like one...
Neat! : )
I've got lots of PQL dollies to bib up! Thanks for the pattern.
This is so cool!
I wonder if this would make a good Preemie bib?
